In the past, all Thai women strived for marriage whatever it could take, as only a married woman was considered fully accomplished. Today, marriage is not the main life goal for all Thai women. They can simply enjoy life.

Thai brides are very attached to their families, which are usually very large. To help their parents, they find jobs. Higher education is uncommon for Thai women, so jobs they can find are relevant. Thai women seldom held leading positions, though sometimes in the modern world they set goals to achieve high status in society. However, the majority of Thai women work as waitresses, cleaners and hold other jobs that do not require high qualification.

Family, Everyday Life and Men

Since the beginning of time, man is considered the head of family. The Thai woman, as a good wife, must take care of her husband, show respect for him and fulfill all his whims. Today everything changes and, despite a stronger position of the woman in family and more freedom from man, Thai women still treat men with great respect. If the man invites friends to his house and they are communicating and drinking alcohol, the Thai woman will not make scenes; she will most probably stay near and serve them cutting ice. This is not a humiliation but rather a normal thing. Thai women don't see any disgrace in pleasing their men if they are earners and keep family.

It was already said that Thai women would never get acquainted in the street, especially if they are seeking partner for life. The first date usually takes place in the presence of her girlfriends, so the man cannot doubt her decency. Despite marriage is no longer the only sense of life, they still consider it the most convenient for woman's life, especially when they do not need to work when married. If a man undertakes keeping family, he will become the best husband in the world for his Thai woman. They don't strive for work and consider staying home and keeping household to be the best lifestyle. If Thai women have jobs, they are usually of low level and very exhaustive; these women seldom do housework.

Many men who heard much about Thai women as that of easy virtue think that it applies to absolutely all Thai women. This is not true. If you seek a woman for serious relations, don't hope to make love with her immediately after getting acquainted. They take care of their innocence and lose it only being sure of the coming marriage.
